Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention.

The EIDBI benefit is a Minnesota Health Care Program that provides medically necessary therapy for people under 21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or related conditions. Treatment is based on proven methods and built around the values, culture, and preferences of each person and their family.

Western Autism Services LLC is an authorized EIDBI therapy provider. We provide intervention services once a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) has established eligibility — we do not conduct CMDEs ourselves.

Eligibility for EIDBI services.

To receive EIDBI services through Western Autism Services LLC, a person must meet all of the following criteria established by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Eligibility Requirements
  • Has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a related condition
  • Has completed a Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation (CMDE) that establishes medical need for EIDBI services
  • Is enrolled in Medical Assistance (MA), Minnesota TEFRA, or another qualifying health care program
  • Is under the age of 21
Important: We provide EIDBI therapy services only. We do not conduct CMDE assessments. A CMDE must be completed through a separate qualified provider before therapy services can begin.

The pathway to EIDBI services.

Anyone — including a parent, caregiver, case manager, social worker, or school professional — can make a referral to EIDBI services.

Complete the EIDBI Referral Form
Submit the EIDBI referral form through the Minnesota Autism Resource Portal at mn.gov/autism to receive provider information and begin the process.
Complete a CMDE Assessment
A Comprehensive Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation through a qualified CMDE provider establishes medical necessity and eligibility. This includes observation, a medical exam, standardized assessments, and input from the family.
Contact Western Autism Services
Once eligibility is established, contact us at (763) 306-6471 to discuss beginning EIDBI therapy services. We'll confirm availability in your area and walk you through next steps.
Build Your Individualized Plan
Our team will develop an Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) tailored to the person's specific goals, needs, and family context — then services begin.

EIDBI therapy meets you where you are.
